ELDER TRAIL

A short forested loop that climbs to a viewpoint over Trail.

Difficulty: A1 easy
Trailhead:
Palyga Drive, Trail

Distance: 2.7 km round trip
Elevation: +180m
Season: early April to early NovemberDrive. The trailhead is tucked away on Palyga Drive in West Trail in a real network of zig-zagging residential streets. Use Google Maps. There are several parking spaces on this narrow road.

Trail. Ascend an old, overgrown road for .5 km when it turns into a loop.
Counterclockwise: Turn right to ascend another old road, then narrows and switchbacks through big birch trees. Reach a big viewpoint with a bench at 1.5km,
2.2 km. Complete the loop to rejoin the original old road and the parking area.
