ARROW LAKES BLUFFS CLIMBING

The Arrow Lake Bluffs are a series of crags ranging in height from 20m to 100m. The walls are all found on the North Shore of Arrow Lake between the Hugh Keenly Side Dam and Syringa Provincial Park. Most development is above Scotties Marina. The rock here varies in quality but is for the most part very solid.
Most of the climbing is restricted to trad lines. The few that have been developed are of excellent quality, offering steep, well-protected lines on bomb-proof rock. People have been climbing on these bluffs for many years but climbing development has recently taken off, thanks in part to local climber and route developer Aaron Kristiansen.

Drive. From Robson, drive along Broadwater Road for about 7 minutes. The walls will be in sight from Castlegar. Once past the Dam look right – the walls are above the road. 49.34425, -117.82560

Camping. None, although a possibility nearby is the “Big Beach” that gets exposed as the water level drops.

About admin

I would like to think of myself as a full time traveler. I have been retired since 2006 and in that time have traveled every winter for four to seven months. The months that I am "home", are often also spent on the road, hiking or kayaking. I hope to present a website that describes my travel along with my hiking and sea kayaking experiences.
