Drive: Access by road to these mountains is good – perhaps too good. The primary approach is from US-2 in the south and US-95 and ID-1 along the range’s western edge. In addition, US-95 cuts across the range’s northwest corner, and the Moyie River Road and the Deer Creek Road (both major secondary roads) cut through central sections of the range from north to south.
FST-272 and FS-2481, Mission Creek Road. FST-272 leaves US-95 4.4 miles east of US-1 and runs north to the Canadian border. A mile from the border FS-2481 forks off to the east, up the East Fork of Mission Creek, and then meanders to the Miller Creek drainage, where it is closed by a gate.

Trail/Route: FST-156 and FST-409, Mission Mountain Trail. These trails combine to form a travel route between Mission Creek Road and Gillion Creek The eastern end of the trail can be accessed from Mission Creek Road. I the west, the trail leaves FS-2481 at the divide between Mission Creek and Miller Creek and then follows the ridge line north of Mission Mountain in a little over 1.0 mile. At Mission Mountain, the trail turns due east and descends a ridge line past Harvey Mountain to Gillion Creek. The trail’s east end connects with FS-273 and Gillion Creek 1.4 miles north of US-95.

I would like to think of myself as a full time traveler. I have been retired since 2006 and in that time have traveled every winter for four to seven months. The months that I am "home", are often also spent on the road, hiking or kayaking. I hope to present a website that describes my travel along with my hiking and sea kayaking experiences.
