The next three bridges cross the Usk River in Newport.
George Street Bridge, Newport. A suspension bridge with two large towers on each end. The main highway bridge for M4.
Newport City Footbridge. A suspension bridge with a unique structure – one column supports the bridge and is counterweighted with an another column at 90 degrees.
I found a bar and watched the least session of the World Snooker Championships.

Day 14 Tuesday, May 7
City Bridge, Newport. A road bridge on 7 piers with great lampposts at each pier.
National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon. Great artifacts in the museum but the highlight may be the amphitheatre that is separate from the museum. Round with grass mounds separating the several entrances.

Welsh National War Memorial. A columnated memorial with several statues in the middle of a park.
National Museum Cardiff.
Llandaff Cathedral. Where a bomb from WWII exploded, there is now a very modern arch with a modern Jesus (no nail holes, looking up to God) that looks out of place. Many great tombs of knights and bishops.
St Fagans National History Museum. Open-Air Museums. A reconstructed village.

St. Lythan’s Burial Chamber. 6000 years ago, a stone house on a low hill, 12×30 m in dimension, was here. Slowly the mound eroded away leaving this megalithic structure.
A drive on narrow roads through fields, this four-stone structure stands in the middle of a field. A massive stone roof sits on 4 spots on three large rocks. Three are truly massive, again making me wonder how these people moved them here.

Kenfig Natural Area. A lake with wetlands, marshes and a lake known for its waterfowl.
The Old House 1147, Llangynwyd. Hospitality Legends. Part of this restaurant/wedding venue remains from 1147 (the stone part with a thatch roof). A new addition with big windows looks out onto a lawn.
Abergavenny Market. A grand three-story stone building with a tower. The actual market has a steel frame, and glass roof. T, F, S (general market), W (flea market), every second Saturday (crafts). Several stores surround the open table area.
Llancayo Windmill. Built-in 1830, this is a tapering white mill with a rotating cap now converted into a luxury retreat.
Wye Bridge. A stone road bridge with several piers.
