These trails go up to West Arm Provincial Park.

Season: early May to late October
Drive. Take Elwyn Street in Nelson past Shambhala Music Hall where it turns into a gravel road. Park at Great Northern Trail on Svoboda Road.
Trail. The Svoboda network contains many trails, use the Trail Forks app to avoid the Black Diamond trails.
To walk easier trails, walk up Svoboda Road about 1km, and turn right up the Squeeler trail through the woods to the Frog Jam. It has several switchbacks.
3 km. Reach the wide-level Svoboda Traverse trail and turn left to follow Nelson’s waterline. Turn left.
Crosse Hermitage Creek on the Bealby Trestle Bridge and go east for about 1 km. Towards the end of the Traverse, turn right up a steep trail called Log Jam into an old clearcut to a bench and a view west to the Nelson bridge and into the Kootenay River valley.
Return along Log Jam until it ends at the Svoboda Road, then Svoboda Traverse, Frog Jam, Squeeler, and back again on the Svoboda Road to the trailhead.
