Vallelujah is a mountain biking trail high on a ridge between the Slocan and Kootenay River valleys with great views of the Valhallas and Bonnington Range

Distance. 3.2 km one way.
Elevation: +150m
Season: early June to early October
Drive. Start from Beasley Road and turn onto Queen Victoria Road. At 1 km, Queen Victoria Road turns into the signed Smallwood Creek FSR
0.0 km. Smallwood Creek FSR. Smallwood FSR climbs over 1300 m with rough 4WD high clearance necessary the higher one goes
2.1 km. Stay right on Smallwood Creek FSR (pullout with parking for Smallwood/Bigwood Trail is further on the right).
3.6 km. Cross a bridge
3.9 km. Switch back left at the junction and keep climbing on the main road
12.8 km. Ignore the rough spur on the left.
13.1 km. Park. TH on the right.
Trail. Ascend north. Vallelujah winds back and forth through the clear-cut, tracing outcrops of rocks. There isn’t a special destination but there are great views first to the Vallhalas.
1.7 km. Nice lookout over the Kootenay River Valley and the Bonnington Range (Toad Mountain, Copper Mountain, and Mount Siwash).
After hiking for about an hour, the trail dips into the forest and descends deep into the valley.
Return the same way to stay high on the ridge.
