An easy walk through forest along the Kootenay River. The Slocan Pools are on private land but can be accessed by the public.

Season: April to November
Drive. From the junction of Highway 3A and Highway 6 to the Slocan Valley, drive 2.6 km north towards Nelson and turn at The Dam Inn on West Kootenay Road. Continue on West Kootenay Road past Kalisnekoff Lumber, cross the rail tracks and park by the Hydro Station.
Trail. From the TH sign follow an old road down to a beach on the Kootenay River. Pass an old homesite and the start of the trail through the forest along the river.
1.5km, a junction goes down the river, or to a trail ascending through the forest for 2.2 km. Continue past a rusted gate to Shoreacres Village or loop back on a higher path that follows an old road along the railway.
3.3km. Junction either back down to the lower river trail or follow the high path past a gravel pit. Cross old roads and railways to return to the main river walk.
