KOOTENAY CANAL

A nice easy shoulder season hike.

Drive: From South Slocan, cross the dam and park at the bridge on Blewett Road above the south side of the Kootenay River.

Route: Head west along the canal portion of BC Hydro’s Kootenay Canal Dam and climb up to the power line to a point with good views. Then scramble over the hump and go down we go to Rover Creek Rd and back to cars at the bridge.

I would like to think of myself as a full time traveler. I have been retired since 2006 and in that time have traveled every winter for four to seven months. The months that I am "home", are often also spent on the road, hiking or kayaking. I hope to present a website that describes my travel along with my hiking and sea kayaking experiences.
