Drive: Porto Rico Road up Barrett Creek. Road good up to the turn for Huckleberry Hut. Park.
Route: Continue to Barrett Lake on the old road. Go counterclockwise to the other side of the lake with a continued elevation gain. This quickly puts you below the summit on its north side. Easy scramble to the top.
Descend by continuing on the east ridge and walk the bumps towards far off Cabin Peak.
Or from the car at the switchback, ascend SW to Cabin Peak and walk clockwise over Dominion, Empire Peak and Commonwealth Mt.
