Andermatt. A NM “small town”, this more properly should be in the Switzerland – Ticino (Lugano, Locarno, Bellinzona) region as it is reached most easily from there.
Giornico. A NM “small town”, this is truly tiny with a couple of stone churches.
Santa Maria Assunta Convent (Claro Abbey), Claro. Take a long meandering road 4.6 km up to this convent that sits on a rock promontory high above the town.
THREE CASTLES, DEFENSIVE WALL and RAMPARTS of the MARKET TOWN of BELLINZONA
Montebello Castle. Sitting above the town to the south, this double-moated castle has a large central keep and odd “fish-tail” crenellations. The outer ramparts descend down the hill. 5, 3 reduced, 10 for all 3 castles.
