URD PEAK

URD PEAK 2680m
The peak is 3.2kms NW of Evans Lake. Considering only its name, Urd Peak belongs in the Norns. FA unknown.
It is a simple walk up on grassy slopes from the east and west.
Urd is traversed on the normal south-to-north traverse of the Valhallas (that is about the only way it gets climbed). Descend to Demers Lakes via its east ridge (may be steep snow or ice).
Demers Peak, Urd Peak and Mount Dorval are summits that can be hiked, and which can be approached from the Demers Lakes or Hird Lakes areas (northwest of Evans Lake). Practically these mountains would normally be climbed only during a traverse of the Valhallas. An approach from Beatrice Lake simply to climb them would be masochistic – this is one of the worst bushwhacks on the planet – the shore of Beatrice Lake is the worst part.

About admin

I would like to think of myself as a full time traveler. I have been retired since 2006 and in that time have traveled every winter for four to seven months. The months that I am "home", are often also spent on the road, hiking or kayaking. I hope to present a website that describes my travel along with my hiking and sea kayaking experiences.
