A pleasant (B2) hike in the Goat Range just west of Meadow Creek. Meadow Mountain has great views of much of the Goat Range.

Time: 3 hr, 5.4 km, 510 m elevation
Drive: 103 km from Nelson to the left turn off Highway 31 at Meadow Creek {opposite the hotel/store/post office}.
3.0 km keep right at 3.0 km. At
4.5 km, turn left on Meadow Mountain FSR
9.6 km Go left.
15.2 km Fork right {road marked “not maintained”}. There is a cabin on the right at
25.3 km Cabin on right
26.4 km Meadow Mountain Recreation Site. Park at the sharp curve in the road between the cabin and the recreation site
Trail. Walk from the corner up to the ridge on Meadow Mountain. There is no clear trail but it is fairly straightforward with little bush, and fairly steep until on the grassy ridge.
At the top, are excellent views in all directions, including Mount Cooper.
Descent. Stay longer on the ridge. Then take an old road that meets the access road about ½ km below the cabin.
You can drive a little further to the high point in the road and walk up the grassy ridge on the right to get better views of Mount Cooper.
