Yeoward is a gradually ascending plateau, culminating in a sharp drop on the NW to Railroad Creek. Views are panoramic to the Pinnacles, Selkirks and Valhallas. The alpine meadows are awesome in the wildflower season.

Drive: From Vernon, drive east on Hwy 6. At 63kms. pass the Gold Pan Cafe, go downhill, make a U-turn across Heckman Creek and at 66km, turn left on South Fork FSR marked “Pinnacle Hiking Area”.

16km Park. Look for a rock-cut road, the start of the trail.
Trail/Route: Start up the rock-cut road for .5km to an old trail that continues for 2.5km. On the west side of a meadow, head SE on an old road for 2km that intersects with the road coming up from the other side, near the old cabin in the meadow.
Yeoward Mountain is visible to the NE as soon as you get to the meadow. The mountain is interesting geologically – The north side is sedimentary shale, argillite, siltstone, conglomerate, limestone and schist. The south side is volcanic flows with basalt and the east has plateau lava, basalt and ash.
